WHAT DOES DERMAL FILLER TREATMENT INVOLVE?
Following a bespoke consultation and the formulation of a detailed treatment plan, we will numb your skin for improved comfort ( this usually involves application of topical anaesthetic ). The dermal filler is then placed for optimum results. After a healing balm is applied to your skin and you are talked through the after care. Any questions you may have can also be answered and written instructions and a follow-up consultation will be arranged for you.
WHAT IS IN DERMAL FILLERS?
The most important component in the filler is Hyaluronic Acid. This mimics the natural substances that heal damaged cells and absorb water, allowing the skin to appear more plumped and youthful.

WHAT EFFECT DOES THE DERMAL FILLER HAVE?
Dermal fillers will mainly do one of two things. They can smooth out lines and creases that develop with age, thus allowing a more youthful appearance. The popular areas for this are the neck, chin, forehead and eyes.
Dermal fillers also aim to give a fuller appearance by giving more volume to areas of the face that have become shallow with age. This is mainly around the nose, cheek and lips.
They can also be used to carry out non surgical rhinoplasty which can improve the appearance of the nose and is much less invasive and a reversible alternative to surgical treatment
HOW MUCH FILLER WILL I NEED?
The amount of filler needed to achieve a result, depends on various factors including : the area of the face, the amount of volume loss and the desired result. This will be discussed with you during your consultation and a treatment plan will be formulated based on your needs.
DOES IT HURT AND IS IT SAFE?
Fillers are very safe when carried out by a properly trained clinician in line with the strict regulations.
The expertise of Dr Samia, from both her training and experience and her knowledge of facial anatomy will give you the peace of mind that you want when having aesthetic treatments. Topical Anaesthetic is always applied prior to any procedure. Careful safe techniques are used to carry out the injections to minimise pain and trauma.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Because the product used is biodegradable, how long it lasts varies from person to person depending on how quick your body breaks substances down, and also on the area treated. As a guidance lips tending to last 6 months but other areas up to 18 months. We do not do permanent fillers as safety is our top priority and the Dr feels the long term effects of these are not yet known in sufficient detail.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
The results of the treatment are usually visible straight away, but most appreciated once any slight bruising and swelling has settled, which is up to 1-2 weeks. A free follow up review appointment is offered also to ensure that you are pleased with your treatment.
